I'm studying Mass Communication at Symbiosis. I will be volunteering here at NJS from the 11th November to the 7th of December. I think it will be a great experience with lots to learn!

After finishing my A-Levels in Münster I am now taking half a year off in India by combining my interests in working with children and in other cultures. I am glad to be here and hope you are interested in our experiences.

Pascale, 19, Belgium

I am studying IB in Maastricht, the Netherlands. I am at NJS for six weeks during my semester break. It's a great opportunity to get to know the working of the school, the children and the Indian culture.

Alice, 20

I am a second year international law student at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. I have decided to work at NJS during my summer break because I love children and have had an interest in the Indian culture since I was a young girl. I look forward to being here in Nagpur and teaching the children of NJS!

Franzi, 19, Germany

After finishing my A-levels I wanted to take half a year off and as I always have been fascinated by the Indian culture I took the opportunity to work with kids here in India. I hope our stay helps them to widen their view on the whole world and the foreign cultures.

After teaching English to the children at Nav Jeevan two years ago, I was determined to come back and help in any way that I could. I also love physics and chemistry - so when Aneeta told me that Nav Jeevan had a science lab that wasn’t being utilized, helping out as a lab technician seemed like the perfect job. Being at Nav Jeevan is always such a rewarding experience.

  2. Dear beautiful volunteers, the children are fortunate to have you there and we are fortunate that you are spending your time at Nav-Jeevan school. You will make a difference in the children's life. Their reading ability and English composition will improve. They will learn how to value and take care of the books in the library. They will also learn that the world is full of people with compassion and empathy for the less fortunate. With your help the children will grow up to be productive and good citizens of the world.
