Field Trip to an Old Age Home

Today, the students from 7th class visited the old age home at Mure Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Manju, a volunteer and teacher, came up with this great idea to have the students visit elderly and deprived people in order to teach the students the concept of doing a good deed.

The students were very excited and eager to help in the old age home and cut some fruits after thouroughly washing their hands.

The children and the elderly got a chance to bond!

Ms. Rashmi, their class teacher, also assisted them.

Everyone participating in such a great way made this a great day for both students and residents of the old age home!

Donation from Centre Point School

Centre Point School donated seven big boxes of books for our library. After putting in hours of hardwork, our library is finally complete! To ensure proper management, we have even made a library register to keep track of books borrowed.

Thank you to Centre Point School for this great donation!

Celebration of Children's Day in Nav- Jeevan!

For Children's Day, students dressed up in their nicest and colourful clothes.

The teachers prepared a great programme for their students: they sang, acted and danced for them! Fun games like throwball were also organized for the students!

The students enjoyed the programme very much and appreciated the effort that the teachers put in it.

Starting a Nav- Jeevan- Composter

Nav- Jeevan- Composter after 7 days

As the NJS-school has a lot of organic kitchen waste, we started a Nav-Jeevan-Composter close to our vegetable garden.

Here you can see the kids throwing their banana peel into the composter.
Collecting dried leaves and adding them into the composter is very important to get good compost! Thank you, Samuel, for helping with that!

Same amount of kitchen waste and dried leaves (or shredded newspaper) will get compost in only 90 days.

What can go in our Nav-Jeevan-Composter?

We hope that with the help of the kitchen staff we can maintain our Nav-Jeevan-Composter!
This sheet is attached to the fridge in the kitchen.

Kids enjoying their new Merry-Go-Round!

Improvement of the NJS-Playground

Thanks to Family Hecht

Franzi, a volunteer at Nav-Jeevan, tells us about her family who visited the Dr.T.S. Wilkinson Memorial School in October 2013:

My parents Gerlinde and Henning and my brother Maxi travelled to India to get to know the country, the people, and the way I am living and working here at Nav-Jeevan-Sanstha.

During their stay they wished to contribute something to improve the life of the Nav-Jeevan children. We visited a factory to choose a Merry-Go-Round for the kids.

They also brought a lot of teaching material which will be helpful for the English teachers.

Nav- Jeevan is always grateful to receive any In-Kind-Donations which will help the students in their academics, sports and physical activities.

After a week the Merry-Go-Round was delivered and was set up by Anup, warden of NJS, and the staff of the company.
After having watched the construction attentively the children unfortunately had to wait a few more days until they were allowed to jump on it and enjoy their freetime, because the cement of the basement had to dry properly.

Finally after the Diwali Holidays the kids were free to use the Merry-Go-Round as much as they like- which is a lot!

It is great to see these smiling faces having so much fun during their schoolbreak and freetime.

So again we say Thank You so much for this great help!
"A good deed never goes unrewarded in the eyes of God."
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
